Wedding dress shopping is a brand new experience. You’ve likely never went through it yourself before! It’s unlike any other shopping experience, which is why we decided to put together this guide of what our K&B brides can expect at their appointment!
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR K&B BRIDALS APPOINTMENT
Here are some things that you can expect at your bridal appointment here at K&B Bridals!
You will be in a private suite with a personal bridal stylist
During your appointment, you get to be in a private bridal suite! This will give you privacy — you won’t have to be trying on dresses in front of everyone in the store! You’ll also be working with a personal bridal stylist during your entire appointment. She will basically be your best friend throughout the whole process, and will help you through your emotions as you find your dress!
A standard appointment is 90 minutes
A standard bridal appointment with us is 90 minutes long. We promise that this is plenty of time to find your dress!
We have upgraded appointment options as well. These options will give you 2 hours for your appointment, as well as other exciting things! You can check out those upgraded options here.
Wear nude undergarments
One of our most asked questions from brides is what undergarments you should wear during your appointment. We usually suggest nude undergarments! This will give you a better feel of what your dress will look like on your wedding day.
Many brides end up taking off their bra while trying on dresses. So many dresses have open backs or illusion, so they feel like their bra gets in the way. It is completely up to you and your comfort level!
Only bring your closest loved ones
It can be tempting to bring all of your friends and family with you. However, we highly recommend only bringing a few of your absolute closest loved ones with you. Three or four guests is a pretty good number!
Having too many people with you can lead to too many opinions. This will only leave you feeling overwhelmed and confused! It’s so important to bring people who will love and support you, too.
Have your budget in mind
Before you start wedding dress shopping, do your best to get an idea of your budget. How much are you willing to spend on your wedding dress? Keep in mind that you’ll want to budget for accessories and alterations, too!
Having a budget will keep you from trying on a dress, falling in love with it, and then realizing that it’s too far out of your price range. You don’t want to have to struggle with that decision!
Bring inspiration
Do you have photos saved of dresses that you love? Bring them to your appointment! We’ll also be talking to you before your appointment, and you’ll have a chance to send us photos then, too. This gives us a good idea of which dresses we should pull for you to start trying on first.
Tipping
If you are happy at the end of your appointment and feel as though your stylist went above and beyond to give you an amazing experience, please know that a gratuity is appropriate and very much appreciated. Our bridal stylists do receive tips from clients.
This gesture is completely at your discretion. As with any service, tips are not expected but always appreciated. Our system will ask you if you would like to include a tip when you are checking out.
Stay open-minded
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having an idea of what you want in a wedding dress. However, do your best to come to your appointment with an open mind! You would be shocked at the number of brides who choose a dress that is completely different from what they thought they wanted. It happens all the time!
Don’t be afraid to commit!
Don’t be afraid to say “yes” to the dress! There are always going to be new dress styles coming out and more dresses for you to go look at. If you have a special feeling about a dress and can picture yourself walking down the aisle in it, don’t be afraid to commit to it!
