Have you been wondering if it’s worth it to hire a wedding planner? Well, we are here to tell you that it absolutely is!
10 REASONS TO HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER
Here are our top 10 reasons to hire a wedding planner! This certainly isn’t a comprehensive list — the reasons to hire a wedding planner are endless!
1. Knowledge
Your wedding planner will likely have been in the wedding industry for years, so they have a ton of knowledge that will benefit you and your wedding day! They know tips and tricks that you likely don’t. They also have great working relationships with many venues and vendors, which can be a huge help to you!
2. Month-of coordination
When you are hiring a planner, you can typically choose to hire them for full services (planning the entire wedding from beginning to end) or month-of coordination. With month-of coordination, your planner will come in about a month before your wedding and review contracts, work on your day-of timeline, and coordinate with vendors. Of course, they will then be there the day of your wedding to make sure that everything runs smoothly! If you do hire a full-service planner, month-of coordination will be included with that.
Have coordination from a planner on your wedding day will make your day so much less stressful. You won’t have to worry about a single thing!
3. Mediation
Are you having issues with family members while wedding planning? Maybe you can’t agree on budget or small details about the wedding day. Your planner can typically help with this. The planner will always know that their true client is the engaged couple, and will always be on your side. They can help talk to family members to explain why things are being done a certain way!
At the very least, you can always tell your family member “My planner thinks we should…” as an excuse!
4. More than a venue manager
Some couples make the mistake of thinking that they don’t need to hire a planner because their venue comes with a day-of manager or coordinator. This isn’t true! The venue coordinator or manager will be in charge of making sure that everything is running with the facilities on your wedding day. Your planner or coordinator will take care of all of the nitty gritty details.
For example, at my wedding, the venue manager was in charge of locking/unlocking buildings, turning on lights, and other things like that. My day-of planner did everything else — set up the reception decor, made sure that the timeline was being followed throughout the day, told the wedding party when to walk down the aisle, broke everything down at the end of the night, etc.
5. Design assistance
If you hire a full-service wedding planner, they will typically help you with the design of your wedding! Be sure to talk with them to see if they will do this. This can include helping you find decor, rentals, and more.
6. Timeline coordination
Your planner will help you figure out your day-of timeline and will help make sure that it is followed to the minute on the wedding day. They will work closely with your photographer and DJ to make sure that everything lines up correctly.
7. Assistance with guest experience
Your planner will most likely help you figure out hotel room blocks and guest transportation, which is extremely helpful! It’s nice to not have to worry too much about taking care of it yourself.
8. See your vision come to life
Do you have a specific vision for your wedding day, but aren’t sure how to make it happen? Your planner can help with that! They will have many meetings and conversations with you to nail down your vision and will most likely create a vision board filled with everything that you’re looking for. It’s so magical to see them bring your vision to life on your wedding day!
9. Save money
At the very least, your planner will help you stick to your wedding budget. Sometimes, you can even save money with your planner! They have relationships with a lot of vendors, and can sometimes get discounts that you wouldn’t be able to get on their own. Some planners can even save you as much money as what it costs to hire them!
10. Enjoy the process
Finally, the best part about hiring a planner is that you get to enjoy the process. There is such a huge difference in the stress level of a bride on her wedding day who doesn’t have a planner versus one who does! We’ve never heard of anyone regretting hiring a planner, but it tends to be a number one regret for couples who don’t hire one.
