TIPS FOR SHOPPING OUR BLACK FRIDAY BRIDAL SALE
Are you planning to shop with us for our Black Friday Bridal Sale? Check out some of our tips for shopping!
1. Do your research
First, be sure to follow us on Instagram over at @kandbbridals! We have been sharing daily stories of some of the dresses that we will have as part of the sale. We have been showcasing the dress, original price, sale price, and size of the gown.
We also suggest having a solid idea of the style dress that you’re looking for, as well as a budget. Having a style in mind can be super helpful for this type of sale, since you are shopping from our ready-to-wear gowns and will be bringing the dress home with you the same day! Having an idea of what you’re looking for can help you feel more confident in saying “yes” to the dress when you find “the one!”
Having a budget in mind is also extremely important when it comes to shopping our Black Friday Sale. In fact, it’s important for anyone who is wedding dress shopping — sale or not! We would never want you to try on a dress, fall in love with it, and then find out that it’s more than you can realistically afford.
2. Wear nude undergarments
We suggest wearing or bringing nude undergarments to get a realistic vision of how the dress will look on your wedding day! Some brides even end up taking their bra off entirely during the appointment, especially for backless dress or plunging necklines. Whatever is most comfortable for you is best, but we definitely suggest nude undergarments!
3. Bring a few of your closest loved ones
Some brides think that they are just coming to look at dresses, so they arrive solo. But, so many of those brides end up falling in love with a dress and have to make a second “fake” appointment to officially say yes with their loved ones with them! So, to help avoid this, we suggest bringing them with you to your appointment. This is especially true for the Black Friday sale — we can’t hold a dress for you, so we would hate for the dress to sell before you come back!
It is completely up to you who exactly you bring with you, but we suggest limiting the number of guests to two or three. Too many opinions can become overwhelming! Whether it’s your mom, maid of honor, grandmother, or someone else — you don’t want to miss that special moment with them.
4. Shoes?
For a typical bridal appointment, we usually tell our brides that they don’t need to worry about bringing shoes to their appointment (unless they are basing their dress around their shoes, of course)! However, that is usually when a bride will be ordering a dress from a designer and they are not bringing it home with them the same day.
Because you will likely be bringing your dress home with you the day of your appointment, if you already have shoes picked out, then feel free to bring them with you! Or, if you know you’re wearing heels, feel free to bring a pair. This can give you a better idea of what you will look and feel like on your wedding day!
5. Inspect the dress
Because these are ready-to-wear dresses from our shop, be sure that you take a close look at your gown before you make the final decision to purchase it. While all of the gowns are still in excellent condition, and everything is fixable, we want to make sure that you are 100 percent certain that you are willing to take on the cost for alterations for anything that the dress might need.
We will go through anything with you and tell you our thoughts on what can be done for any minor wear and tear on the dress. We always provide our brides with a list of our recommended seamstresses in the area, too! So you can reach out to one of them knowing that they are well-trusted by our team.
6. Be ready to say “yes!”
Always be ready to say “yes!” to the dress when you come for a bridal appointment! As we mentioned above, some brides tend to visit sales to get an idea of what they’re looking for and aren’t necessarily expecting to say “yes” that day. While there isn’t anything wrong with that, you’d be surprised at how many brides end up finding their dream dress who weren’t expecting to!
This is especially important during our sale, because you will be bringing the dress home with you that day. You should definitely feel confident in your decision. Going into the appointment prepared will help you do that!
7. Prepare for alterations
Finally, make sure that you are prepared for alterations. All wedding dresses need alterations — whether you purchase the gown directly from a store or order it through a designer. This could be fixing the hem, bringing it down in size, letting it out to go up in size, fixing snags, and more.
Keep in mind that alterations will be an additional cost — remember this when you are trying to figure out your dress budget! We provide all of our brides with a list of recommended seamstress, so you can find one closest to you that you can trust!
8. HAVE FUN!
We know that we just gave you a lot of tips to keep in mind. However, the most important one is, HAVE FUN! This is such a special time in your life and wedding dress shopping is the best part of wedding planning. Try not to let it stress you out, and enjoy the experience!
